THE STORY BEHIND FIRST-GEN WEALTH

I wasn’t handed a financial blueprint.

I had to build one.

Incarceration affected much of my family while I was growing up. I knew I wanted a different path, but wanting one and knowing how to build it were two different things.

I became the first in my family to graduate from high school, attend college, and join the military. I later became the first to work at a major tech company. By the time I joined the Army at 24 and began earning a steady income, I had already started studying personal finance. I wanted to be prepared to make thoughtful decisions when that income arrived.

Over time, budgeting, investing, real estate, and steady financial habits helped me build more stability and more choices. I kept talking about what I learned with friends and family, because I knew how valuable a starting point could be.

First-Gen Wealth is where I share those lessons with others who are building a different future one decision at a time.
